ORCA are recruiting for six Wildlife Officers to deliver the Wildlife Officer programme on board two Brittany Ferries’ ships, sailing from the UK to Spain, across the English Channel and Bay of Biscay – a hotspot for whales and dolphins. ORCA is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, driven and conservation-minded individuals with the passion to enthuse others to deliver the Wildlife Officer programme, which involves delivering presentations, children’s activities, quizzes and deck watches for passengers on board. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to one of ORCA’s core work areas and champion Bay of Biscay marine wildlife to the public.

ORCA are recruiting for the following positions:

Two six-month long Wildlife Officers to work on board the Cap Finistere vessel, who will deliver the Wildlife Officer programme and also mange four-week long volunteer placements (Wednesday 29th March – Wednesday 24th September 2017).
18 hours work on board a week = £520 a month
One three-month long Wildlife Officer to work on board the Cap Finistere vessel, to deliver the Wildlife Officer programme (Wednesday 29th March – Wednesday 28th June)
18 hours work on board a week = £520 a month
Three Wildlife Officers to work on board the Pont Aven vessel for 3 months (4th April – 4th July 2017) , to deliver the Wildlife Officer programme.
15 hours work on board a week = £450 a month
All Wildlife Officers with Brittany Ferries work on a two-week on board, one-week off rota.

All Wildlife Officers must be available for Brittany Ferries training from 6th to 10th February 2017and ORCA training from 27th to 31st March 2017.
