The successful candidate (f/m)
will work on the topic “Comparative genomics of heterotrophic and phototrophic
protists”.

The work will include molecular as well as bioinformatic tasks to
analyse the multiple evolution of heterotrophic organisms from phototrophic
ancestors. Therefore, profound knowledge in molecular methods and a strong
interest in bioinformatics are expected. We are looking for candidates
experienced in statistical methods (R) and/or scripting methods (Python) to
analyse molecular and ecological data. Preferably the candidate has prior
practical experience in high-throughput sequence analysis and handling of large
genomic datasets. Good communication skills and solid English writing skills are
mandatory. A Master (or equivalent) in Biology, Bioinformatics or Biostatistics
is assumed.

Start of position: 01.08.2016
Salary: TVL-13Contract period: 3 years
Working time: 65 %
