This project aims to track the biological impacts of microplastic debris along the trajectory of selected UK river systems in Wales and South West England, addressing the hypothesis that species traits will significantly influence microplastic accumulation. The successful PhD candidate will play a vital role in this by applying field and laboratory techniques to document microplastic abundance and to determine patterns of bioaccumulation.
