We are providing an attractive opportunity for a highly motivated
post-doctoral fellow to join a project to enhance recovery of degraded
reefs by coral propagation. The successful candidate will work with a team
of scientists to develop/refine a variety of techniques to rear corals and
their larvae for restoration/mitigation purposes. The successful candidate
will also contribute to develop a research program that takes advantage of
the unique corals in the Arabian/Persian Gulf to address independent
research questions. The opportunity is for a three-year term starting in
January 2017.

Essential Selection Criteria:
? PhD in marine biology/ecology or a relevant discipline
? Sound knowledge of coral reproductive biology
? Experience in studies involving coral spawning and culturing of coral
larvae
? Proven competence in conducting field and aquarium-based studies
? Demonstrated capacity to communicate research results in different
formats (oral and written) to widely different audiences
? Ability to meet deadlines within budgetary constraints and to work
independently to solve scientific problems

Desirable Selection Criteria:
? Experience in establishing/nurturing international collaborations
? Advanced diving qualifications
? Experience in large-scale aquarium & field experiments
