We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist with an interest in seafloor bathymetry, experience of acquisition/processing of bathymetric data and a proven ability to interpret it in terms of seafloor geology. Preference will be given to scientists with volcanological and/or plate tectonic experience.

The work will involve interaction with German national and European data centres to achieve access to archived data, coordinate with ship´s operators to guide new data acquisition and upload new data to appropriate repositories. The applicant will also be required to assist with maintenance of the project’s bathymetric repository. In this respect, experience of working in data management or with databases would be beneficial.
