The Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M) is an internationally renowned center for climate research. Within the research group Ocean Biogeochemistry in the department The Ocean in the Earth System of the MPI-M and as part of the project PalMod, MPI-M are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist in the area of ocean biogeochemical modeling.

The work will focus on understanding how marine biogeochemical processes controlled the ocean carbon sink and thereby the atmospheric CO2 during the last deglaciation. The successful applicant will work on adjusting the global biogeochemistry model HAMOCC for the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). They will perform transient model simulations with HAMOCC in the framework of the Max Planck Institute’s Earth System Model (MPI-ESM) starting in the LGM to the present.
