Project Manager

Salary £45k+ (depending on relevant experience)

 Fixed Term Appointment – 12 months

(renewable for 12 months depending on performance and outcomes)

 The Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), based at the Scottish Marine Institute in Oban on the west coast of Scotland, is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to assist in the implementation of a two-phase programme of institutional development.

 Led by our senior management team, you will plan and guide priorities for the priority Phase 1 of our programme, provide overall project management ensuring outcomes are achieved successfully and in a timely fashion.  You will foster good relations with internal and external stakeholders and develop detailed plans in readiness for implementation of a longer-term Phase 2 plan.

 You will manage the controlled design, delivery and governance along the project life-cycle: dealing with day to day complexities; ensuring the project is running to time; and meeting targets whilst maintaining a strong focus on our agenda.

 You will be a highly motivated individual who enjoys the practical aspects of successful project management and takes pride on quality and timely delivery of their work. 

 The successful candidate will have a demonstrable record of excellence in project management, including significant experience of managing and delivering complex projects within timescale and to budget.  You will also have the ability to drive forward activity, addressing barriers and making decisions across a range of complex deliverables.

 You will have excellent communication skills across all levels of stakeholders with demonstrable presentation skills and the ability to prioritise and schedule workloads in the face of conflicting demands.
