Registration

Registration is ongoing for the 2017 International Ocean Colour Science meeting (IOCS-2017), which will take place from 15 – 18 May 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal. The meeting is convened by the IOCCG in partnership with, and thanks to sponsorship from the European Commission, EUMETSAT, ESA, NASA, IPMA and Thales Alenia Space.

Programme

The programme for the IOCS-2017 meeting will include invited keynote lectures, agency talks, several breakout workshops, community discussions, NASA, Copernicus & VIIRS town halls, and an emphasis on poster presentations (see schedule-at-a-glance).  Abstracts for posters (deadline 1 April 2017) can be submitted online.

Scholarships

Scholarships are being offered for students and post-docs to help defray the cost of travel to attend the meeting. Apply online for scholarships (deadline 15 March 2017).

Training

Two training courses are offered following the meeting (Friday 19 May 2017) and will run concurrently: i) the Copernicus marine data stream and ii) SeaDAS updates and future directions. Online registration for training courses closes on 31 March 2017.

Accommodation

Lisbon is a very popular destination so we strongly encourage you to book your accommodation soon. Rooms have been block-booked in a few hotels but they offer very short deadlines (starting 28 February!).  There are also reasonably-priced apartments for rent near the conference venue (the Feira International de Lisboa (FIL) Conference Centre). See the Logistics tab on the meeting website for further details.
