This year’s edition of the Young Marine Researcher conference YOUMARES will take place in Kiel, Germany, from 13 to 15 September (www.youmares.net).
Are you a talented MSc / PhD student or young Post-Doc who is willing to actively participate in the conference? You can now apply for hosting one of the conference sessions.
The deadline for applications is now set to 28 February. The candidates can host a session alone or in a team of two. Applications should contain a short motivation letter, CV(s), a title and a potential call for abstracts (max 100 words) for the session. Everything can be sent to abstracts@youmares.net
Successful session hosts will be free of participation fees and can invite a speaker to their session (also free of fees, we unfortunately cannot cover travel costs). The session hosts will be responsible for selecting and handling of the abstracts that apply for presentation and will moderate the respective session. Additionally, they will write and publish a review on their session topic in the conference proceedings which will be peer reviewed and thus citable.
Overall, I think it’s a nice opportunity for talented people to get the experience of partly organizing a conference. We are looking forward to your applications.
