The Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) will hold the 25th edition of the LABORATORY AQUATIC ANIMAL SCIENCES COURSE (CAL-AQUA) from December 16 to 20, at CIIMAR. The course will take place in a mixed regime, including online theoretical classes and on-site practical classes.
The course is accredited by the University of Porto, corresponding to 6 ECTS (credit units). If you wish to obtain the 6 ECTS credits, please send an email to calaqua@ciimar.up.pt.
The CAL-AQUA course is intended for all teachers, researchers, master’s and doctoral students, and technicians who need to acquire training in the area of Science in Laboratory Aquatic Animals, with a particular focus on aquatic vertebrates (fish and amphibians).
The CAL-AQUA course program follows the European recommendation (Directive 2010/63/EU) and covers the compulsory training required for Function A – carrying out procedures, Function C – taking care of animals, and Function D – humanely euthanizing animals as stated in Article 31 of Decreto-Lei nº 113/2013. Successful completion of this course will allow you to obtain certification to carry out animal experiments.
