Marine Protected Areas Ineffective

A new study has revealed that most of EU’s Marine Protected Areas will only provide marginal protection against destructive activities such as mining, dredging and bottom trawling. This has left the region struggling to meet its 2030 biodiversity targets of protecting 30% of its seas by 2030.
