2 PhD positions Physical oceanography: analysis of surface-layer turbulent processes, Leibniz IOW (Germany)

The Department of Physical Oceanography and Instrumentation of the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) is offering two PhD projects. The first PhD project (Phy-10/2016) will study these processes with a help of a high resolution numerical modelling approach, using modelling tools developed at IOW. In the second project (Phy-11/2016), the role of small-scale processes in the surface layer will be investigated based on experimental data.

Applicants are required to have a master degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Physical Oceanography, or a related scientific discipline. Very good English language skills, very good academic achievements, and a strong interest in interdisciplinary fundamental research are required.

Application deadline: 30 September 2016
