Postdoc in phytoplankton ecology

A postdoctoral position is available in the Litchman-Klausmeier lab at Michigan State University. The postdoc will participate in the collaborative NSF Dimensions of Biodiversity project with researchers from the University of Rhode Island and University of Southern California investigating eco-evolutionary responses of marine phytoplankton to changing temperature and nutrients. We are looking for a phytoplankton ecologist to conduct field sampling, short-term physiological and community experiments, as well as long-term evolution experiments with phytoplankton from Narragansett Bay, RI and Bermuda. Experience with phytoplankton culturing, running phytoplankton physiological or evolution experiments, as well as data analysis and manuscript writing is essential.

The position is for one year initially, renewable depending on performance and continued funding. Start date is as soon as possible. Interested applicants should email a CV, a brief statement of research interests and accomplishments, and the names and contact information of three references to Elena Litchman (litchman@msu.edu). Review of applications will begin February 28, 2017 and continue until filled.
