The Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering (BESE) Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites qualified applicants to help increase its strength in Marine Science, with the aim of recruiting two outstanding Faculty at the levels of Assistant and Associate Professor to be also affiliated with the Red Sea Research Center at KAUST.

Candidates must have a proven track record of excellence in marine science and a strong and original research program. The extension/development of research programs spanning from fundamental research questions to advanced knowledge in applied problems relevant to the Red Sea is anticipated. In particular, candidates are expected to add to the RSRC Mission to “contribute to the understanding of the role, functioning and response to pressures of the global ocean by using the unique opportunities offered by the Red Sea”. Expertise/achievements in the following research areas will be of particular interest: tropical marine ecosystems, marine environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry and metabolomics, and marine spatial modeling and planning.

Positions will remain open until filled. A first assessment of applications will be conducted in March 2017.
