Description
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an Ocean Modeller (MITgcm) to join the Polar Oceans/Shelf Seas Team. In this position, the successful candidate will be updating existing models of recent field campaigns on Filchner Ice Shelf, investigating the sensitivity of ocean circulation and ice shelf melting, use the results to optimise the model and produce a forecast of ice shelf melt rates. The successful candidates must have practical experience in the development and running of numerical models of ocean circulation, experience in the numerical solution of partial differential equations, experience on both Unix and PC-based systems and knowledge of Fortran.
