The Department of Physical Oceanography and Instrumentation of the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) is offering two PhD projects. The first PhD project (Phy-10/2016) will study these processes with a help of a high resolution numerical modelling approach, using modelling tools developed at IOW. In the second project (Phy-11/2016), the role of small-scale processes in the surface layer will be investigated based on experimental data.
Applicants are required to have a master degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Physical Oceanography, or a related scientific discipline. Very good English language skills, very good academic achievements, and a strong interest in interdisciplinary fundamental research are required.
