About the project
This Marine Science outreach magazine is an initiative of the Brazilian LEOC-FURG biogeochemistry group (www.carbonteam.furg.br), and its goal is to disseminate different aspects of marine environment, aiming for society’s engagement in relevant environmental issues.
An incredible team of researchers contributed to this volume, including many POGO alumni, and a great effort was made to bring the magazine’s language and content closer to people’s daily lives.
The Carbon Team News is published in Portuguese, and its most recent volume brings sixteen articles about the hats of Sea Elephants, the mangroves, the Diatoms of Antarctica and curious questions asked by children and answered by researchers from all over the world. The magazine also features an interview with Suzana, a woman whose environmental consciousness inspires and teaches, in addition to presenting the importance of research projects to our lives, and many curious facts about the beach explained by specialists.
Carbon News is available online here. In addition, the Carbon Team kindly offered to include the Carbon News in the NANO Outreach External Material Catalogue.
