Aruba Embraces Rights of Nature

Aruba has proposed an amendment to enshrine environmental rights in its constitution. The tiny island is increasingly impacted by climate change through coastal erosion, sea level rise and ocean acidification, which reduces the minerals needed for marine life. If the proposal is successful, Aruba will be the second country in the world, behind Ecuador, to constitutionally recognise the rights of nature. Read more about it here.
