A funded PhD position is available at the Laboratoire d’Etudes en Géophysiques et Océanographies Spatiales (LEGOS) on coupled ocean-atmosphere modeling (using ROMS/CROCO and WRF). The objective of the PhD is to assess how changes in upper-ocean properties and in particular stratification related to different modes of climate variability at sub-seasonal (monthly) to seasonal timescales affect the modulation of Tropical Cyclone (TC) activity (genesis, intensity, location…) through related changes in the amplitude of TC-induced cooling in the Eastern Pacific hurricane basin.
