Doctoral researcher position in geomicrobiology in the area of marine carbon sinks – CO2 removal by alkalinity enhancement – Deadline 27 June 2021

The Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung (D.A.M.) supports and coordinates leading German marine research institutions and aims at promoting the protection and sustainable use of coasts, seas, and oceans. The project ‘RETAKE – Marine carbon sinks in decarbonization pathways offers in the subproject ‘Enhanced benthic weathering of carbonate and olivine in the Baltic Sea’ one doctoral researcher position in the field of Geomicrobiology, which will be closely linked to a doctoral researcher position in geochemistry. The project will investigate the potential, feasibility, and side effects of different pathways of atmospheric CO2-extraction through alkalinity enhancement (AE) in laboratory and mesocosm experiments.
