Colleagues,
As you may be aware, NASA’s Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) mission is scheduled to launch in late 2022 to early 2023. PACE will extend and improve NASA’s 40+ year record of satellite observations of global ocean biology, aerosols, and clouds. Details about the PACE mission can be found at https://pace.gsfc.nasa.gov.
We are inviting you, as a member of the Ocean Color community, to join the PACE Early Adopter (EA) Program. The goal of the EA program is to provide you and your group with the unique opportunity to interact with the pre-launch PACE activities and to demonstrate the utility of PACE data to your particular operational system or model before launch.
To be eligible for the PACE Early Adopter program, you should:Â
- Have a direct, clearly defined need for PACE data products
- Have an existing application or a new idea for PACE-related applications
- Have an existing user for your application and a description of how your application contributes to decision-making processes
- Have existing resources (personnel, tools, funding, facilities, etc.) to demonstrate the utility of PACE data in your application/model
As a PACE Early Adopter, you will receive several benefits:
·  Direct engagement with the NASA PACE Project
·  Partnership opportunities with the PACE Science & Application Team (where relevant)
·  Participation in PACE Applications events, including workshops, focus sessions, and tutorials
·  Priority access to pre-launch simulated and proxy PACE data
·  Updates on PACE activities from the project office, including anticipated science data products and field campaigns
In order to better understand your data needs and how PACE might fulfill them, we would like to hear from you. If you are interested in joining the PACE Early Adopter team, please email us at pace-applications@oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov, or fill out a short statement of interest via this webform.
Thank you for your time and interest in PACE Applications.
Regards,
—
