FY 2019 Funding Opportunities
NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, in partnership with
NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and Office of Ocean
Exploration and Research, is pleased to announce two Federal Funding
Opportunities focused on mesophotic coral ecosystems:
(1) 2019 Deep Coral Reef Ecosystem Studies Program: American Samoa
Due Date: Full proposals are due January 17, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern
Time.
Description: We are soliciting proposals for a project up to four years in
duration to conduct research to improve the understanding of mesophotic
coral ecosystems in American Samoa. One project is expected to be supported
for up to four years, with an approximate annual budget of up to $600,000.

(2) 2019 Regional Ecosystem Prediction Program (REPP): Understanding Coral
Ecosystem Connectivity in the Hawaiian Archipelago
Due Date: Full proposals are due January 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern
Time.
Description: We are soliciting proposals for a project up to five years in
duration to conduct research to improve the understanding of population
connectivity of key mesophotic coral ecosystem species in the Hawaiian
Archipelago. One project is expected to be supported for up to five years,
with an approximate annual budget of up to $1,000,000.
