This call is for early career scientists to join the network
the Orienting Young Scientists of EuroMarine working group, who presented at the General Assembly in January, have opened a call for new early career researchers to join them, with the role commencing in May.Â
This call is only open to EuroMarine Member Organisations and Invited Member Organisations.OYSTER is looking for enthusiastic, engaged and creative young scientists that are willing to play an important role in advocating EuroMarine and promoting the role and relevance of marine science and the ocean in general. OYSTER in particular seeks individuals within the field of marine social science to join the working group.
- Establish a permanent network designed and driven by young researchers themselves
- Engage, empower and assist early career marine scientists by establishing a platform for networking and collaboration
- Support EuroMarine bottom-up approach by communicating early career marine scientists’ matters of concern to develop ways the network can help to address these concerns

Application:The ideal candidate is a PhD student or post-doctoral researcher in their first position after their PhD and who is based at a EuroMarine Member Organisations or Invited Member Organisations. Individuals should have experience in marine-based research and be willing to use their creativity, imagination, communication and interpersonal skills to help promote marine science and EuroMarine activities. To enable a maximum representation of EuroMarine members, OYSTER would particularly like to invite applications from EuroMarine institutes which do not yet have an early career researcher in the OYSTER network (a list of those can be found below).
The position will commence in May 2019 and commitment for one-year is required*. This timeframe will allow members to follow projects from start to finish and attend relevant events.
