Required profiles

For the position in Image Processing of Environmental Observations, you should hold a doctorate. You have a first professional experience (post-doctorate, industrial R&D, etc.) and international experience.

You will be expected to contribute to the teaching on our various courses, more specifically on the common core engineering course and on the Advanced Topics courses on “Sensors & Remote Sensing”, “Data Science” and “Mathematical Computational Engineering’” as well as on associated training with University Master’s (IsBlue, Agrocampus Ouest).

You will conduct research on processing, analysis/interpretation of scenes and multi-sensor synergy for airborne (airplanes, drones, ULM) or satellite imaging for maritime or terrestrial applications. In particular, you will contribute to questions related to the development of methods aimed to identify relevant and essential physical variables using innovative approaches in data processing and analysis, the data being from observation sensors complemented by ancillary sources.

You will contribute to the school’s actions for socio-economic development and internationalisation in its various forms.

In-depth knowledge of areas such as image processing/analysis, machine learning, deep learning, decision making and globally artificial intelligence is expected.

Experience of National or European research project proposal writing and participation is required.

Position environment

The Department Image et Traitement de l’Information, iTi Image & Information Processing [http://departements.imt-atlantique.fr/iti/] is based on Brest campus. It has about 15 permanent lecturer-researchers. The department is part of the UMR CNRS Lab-STICC developing research in the domain of science & information and communication technologies in several research teams and mainly TOMS(Traitements, Observations and Methodes Statistiques –  Processing, Observation and Statistical Methods) for this position.
