Marine observations from in situ observing systems along with other components are paramount for ensuring good quality meteorological ocean products, such as Numerical Weather Prediction, climate studies and ocean modelling. Observing systems have to meet the requirements for these products and a good technical coordination is therefore necessary internationally between all actors involved.
JCOMMOPS acts as a focal point for implementation and operation of relevant observing platforms. The Centre which is located in Brest (France) is funded thanks to voluntary contributions from IOC/UNESCO and WMO Member States, through the marine observing programmes and panels such as Argo, DBCP, OceanSITES, GO-SHIP, SOT, GLOSS.

This webinar will describe how the marine metadata are captured, controlled, enriched and shared through various web services and monitoring tools. It will provide practical use cases of the JCOMMOPS website.
