Accompanied by lectures, students will conduct lab experiments and link them to modelling experiences using examples highly relevant to the changing marine environment of today like mixotrophy, zooplankton fecal pellet production and carbon export. Students are also asked to prepare a poster-presentation of their own research. Upon completion, they receive a course diploma with a recommended 3 ECTS.
