Apply for a 2 x 3-year postdoctoral position to work in the Animal Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology Group headed by Gabriele Gerlach. The position is first limited to 3 years. After a positive evaluation, there is the possibility of an extension for another three years.

The research group studies mechanisms of orientation, the effects of migration on population structure and physiological adaptations to different habitats.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and collaborative postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team working at the interface of behavioral ecology and evolutionary biology.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Evolutionary Ecology and have a solid background in genomics or transcriptomics and bioinformatics analyses. Applications showing research interests in the genomic basis of behavioral, sensory or related processes in animals, preferably in aquatic environments, are welcome. Experience with field work is advantageous. Applicant must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, e.g., SFB 1372 “Navigation in vertebrates”.

Teaching contributions to undergraduate modules in the Bachelor’s” as well as the Master’s programmes “Biology“ are expected.
