This role is equivalent to Assistant Professor level, and is a full-time, permanent position. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching, conduct independent research and obtain research funding. The School supports research groups, with technical expertise, infrastructure, intellectual engagement and collaboration in the areas of Marine and Freshwater Biology, Environmental Microbiology, and Genomics and Computational Biology.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and an excellent track record of research demonstrated by a publication and funding record commensurate with their stage of career.  Applicants will be required to demonstrate how their experience complements and extends the relevant research in the School and will also be expected to provide evidence of belonging to a network of researchers at national or international levels.
