PML Marine System Modeller – two posts, closes 16 June 2016, Plymouth, UK

The Plymouth Marine Laboratory are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join their marine system modelling team. If successful you will work on the development and application of marine ecosystem, biogeochemical and/or physical models, within a range of ongoing programmes.

You will have: a PhD, or a minimum of three years postgraduate experience or equivalent, in a relevant discipline; experience of modelling complex systems and/or a background in marine science is highly desirable, especially experience in marine ecosystem, biogeochemical or hydrodynamic modelling;
proven ability in programming and computer skills (e.g. FORTRAN, PHYTHON, LINUX, or similar) will be a definite advantage as will good mathematical and statistical skills. The model group primarily uses the ERSEM marine ecosystem/biogeochemical model and the NEMO and FVCOM physical models. Any direct experience in these systems would be very welcome.

Closing date: 16 June 2016.
