The closing date for Science@Sea courses in multidisciplinary marine science is Friday 22nd of July. Courses will take place from Monday the 26th to Thursday 29th September in Cork Harbour and its approaches. These intensive two-day CPD courses  aboard the RV Celtic Voyager are aimed at postgraduate and graduate students of marine-related sciences, technologies and engineering, as well as researchers, industry professionals and educators.

Science@Sea concentrates on the cross?disciplinary skills involved in marine sampling and data collection. Participants gain first-hand experience in the set-up, applications, and deployment and retrieval of a wide range of sampling equipment and instrumentation.  Other elements essential to carrying out research surveys at sea are also addressed including safety at sea, research vessel activities and capabilities, and survey design and planning.

Course fees for Science@Sea are set at €150 for applicants from SMART member institutions and €250 for applicants from non-affiliated institutions and payable to Lifelong Learning at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Participants are liable for their own accommodation costs for the duration of courses. SMART is happy to recommend budget accommodation options within close proximity to the vessel and public transport links.
