Overview
As part of the training activities of the Eurofleets+ Marine Internship programme, 1 berths is offered out on-board the RV Belgica to enable postgraduate students (Masters and Doctoral), early career researchers and technicians to gain offshore experience, develop new skills and learn on the job with established research scientists.
The cruise will take place from 1st June to 8th June 2022, from Cádiz to Portimão in the framework of a collaboration between Ghent University & FCT Portugal.
The campaign occurs in the framework of a project related to “Coupling onshore and offshore tsunami record: complementary tools for a broader perspective on tsunami events” and the following tools will be used: multibeam, subbottom profiler, sparker seismic system and vibro-corer or piston corer.
Requirements:
- The participant should be affiliated to a research institute/university/organization.
- A medical aptitude document will need to be filled in and signed by a general physician. We will send the document to the selected participant; the document just indicates that the participant is in good health to embark and work on the vessel.
- Covid-19 measures will apply: Fully vaccinated – Covid-19 test within 72 hours of embarking; not fully vaccinated: Covid test 10 days before embarking + Covid-19 test within 72 hours of embarking
